My friends! I’d probably make sure all my friends and family had everything they wanted. Then I’d probably start my own space program and go explore space.

Clean water. It amazes and appalls me that in this day and age people still don’t have access to a clean water supply. Money can’t save all the world’s problems but this would be a good place to start. I’d buy some new equipment for the lab, get our underwater vehicle fixed (it’s a bit broken right now) and set up a fund to help other young scientists get training. For me, I’d buy a little cottage in the countryside so that I can live in peace, have somewhere to call ‘home’ and not waste money on rent. I’d get some new diving gear, a top of the line digital SLR and housing for taking photos underwater and I’d take my friends and family on an awesome vacation where we could all chill, party and get some serious diving in. My family are doing ok so I’d set up a college fund for my niece and keep some aside incase they need help in the future.

Some of that might go on sushi and a cruise to Norway…

The vast majority would be split between charities, human rights organisations, and I would buy the rainforest from Brazil to stop it being chopped down.

I’d make sure my friends and family were well cared for, and buy me and my wife a nice house by the sea. Then I’d found a charity to support science research – maybe I could let everyone on I’m a scientist choose what to fund!

Myself, who wouldnt? After that, probably donate some to science, some to charity and family. I would probably buy a private jet, learn to fly it, an island and a house or three.
