We actually think that is the lack of the enzyme which causes ADHD. Basically we think that kids with ADHD have either low levels of the enzyme or none at all, and this has effects on other substances in the brain called steroids. Not having the enzyme, would change the levels of the different type of steroids and we think this has the effect. Hope that is clear.
