• Question: What benefits and disadvantages are there from using the nucleur fusion applications that you research compared to nucleur energy that is used currently?

      There main advantage is that would produce much less nuclear waste than conventional nuclear fission, and it will only be radioactive for a few hundred years. It also uses two isotopes of hydrogen as its fuel. One of these deuterium is found in sea water, although the other tritium is rare. Nuclear fission only uranium which has a limited supply, and there is only enough for a few hundred years.

      However the big disadvantage of nuclear fusion is that we haven’t got a fully working plant yet! Hopefully my research will help us get closer to having one.
