I don’t think the sun will blow up because it’s not big enough (according to the physics people). I hope you’re not worrying about this! Our sun has enough fuel to go on for another five billion years or so. At the end of its life, the Sun will begin to swell up, becoming so large that it will swallow the Earth. Eventually it will suddenly collapse into a white dwarf. It may take a trillion years to completely cool down.

If the Sun blew up we wouldn’t know about it until 8 minutes later! Because the Sun is sooo far away from the Earth it takes light 8 minutes to reach us!

Then the world would end for sure, but as Verity said, it’s not meant to happen to our sun. Although if it runs out of fuel and stopped shinning then the earth would be in big trouble too.

If our sun blew up, we would soon know about it. The sun is essential for our existence and every living thing on the planet. Lets hope it doesnt happen anytime soon.
