Yes it does. Nuclear fusion would be a green source of energy if it was to work on a commercial scale as it does not emit any greenhouse gasses. It would also produce less nuclear waste than nuclear fission. So hopefully one day my work will help the environment.
The study I am part of will find out quite comprehensively, if air pollution from traffic is harmful to people who live in the cities. If so I hope the maximum limits will be reduced to the US levels which are much lower than European ones.
Also the project I’m helping my colleague on is to do with climate change and its effect on pregnant women. Even though we cannot just stop climate change, letting people know about its impacts so something can be done to help is important.
Not really but as the prospect of mining hydrothermal vents looms it is important that we learn as much as we can about these environments and the animals that live in them so that we can inform conservation efforts.
