I Have been to a few places for work: Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland and Croatia. It’s nice to get to go and talk to other scientists about your work and I usually stay longer so I get to see the places rather just the inside of a meeting/conference room.

Yes! So much, there are conferences every year. This year alone I’ve been to Germany, Canada and a few other cities in the UK. In science, its really important to travel and discuss your research with other people all over the world.

Yes. Because the ships we go on for our research travel all over the world and have very busy schedules we usually have to travel to where the ship is (rather than vice versa). My last cruise was out of Trinidad and we finished in Jamaica. I travel to international conferences and to meet with other scientists too. Sometimes I get to go and work in other institutions; earlier this year I spent 11 weeks at another marine lab in the United States. It’s a great way to see more of the world!

yes – I have been all over Europe and even to the USA and China to visit other scientists and go to conferences. At the moment I am doing a lot of work with some French Scientists so am visiting Paris quite a lot.
