Hmmm, I did almost get a job at the department of depence, in which case I wouldn’t been able to tell you anyway.
But seriously, we scientists are all trying to work together. The so called “big discoveries” are really leaps from the foundation of what we already know, hence without the background knowledge, we wouldn’t know the right way forward.
Whatever I find will contribute to make the overall picture clearer, eg does genetics determine how susceptible someone is to die from lung cancer, do we need to lower air pollution in our cities to prevent people from dying from it?
