Meet the scientists!

I use mice and humans to understand if an enzyme in our brain might explain the hyperactivity, impulsive choices and lack of attention that cause so many problems for youngsters with ADHD.

A mixture of data analysis on the computer and checking emails, an experiment that is either looking at animal behaviour or studying the levels of genes in the brains of animals. Other things include going to seminars or lectures to further understand similar scientific ideas or to broaden my knowledge of other sciences, group meetings and occassionally going to department retreatments and conferences where I talk about my work to other scientists.

Finding it hard to concentrate or are you a risk taker? The brain has a lot to answer for. I want to bring a workshop all over the UK, where young people can learn about the brain and themselves in an interactive way. I have already brought science to schools in wales as a STEM ambadassor, but I really want to talk about my own work specifically and also raise awareness about ADHD.
